Lloyd Elden Creed

November 11, 1928 – December 24, 2021

Wichita, Kansas – Lloyd Elden Creed, 93, passed away at his home in Wichita, Kansas on December 24, 2021. By his side was his loving wife of 73 years, Peggy (Dull) Creed. Born November 11, 1928, in Wellington, KS, Lloyd was the eldest of the six children of Edwin and Clara (Mezger) Creed.

Lloyd was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Florene Ross and Linda (Harvey) Goforth, and brother Larry Creed; surviving sisters are Lois Smetana and Leela (Earl) Haggard, both of Wichita. Lloyd was the proud father of four sons: Mike (Shelley) Creed, Lake of the Ozarks; Dave (Shirley) Creed, Wichita; Steve Creed, Wichita; John (Joan) Creed, Loveland Colorado. Family survivors also include nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Lloyd was a standout-athlete at Wichita East High School. He attended WSU, then represented Lampton Welding Supply as a successful salesman for 45 years. Upon retirement, Lloyd and Peggy enjoyed traveling and spending time at their family cabin in Westcliffe, Colorado. A man of great character and silent service, Lloyd served as a volunteer for the American Red Cross; he delivered blood, driving over 200,000 miles across the state of Kansas. He was a Mason for 65 years and a member of the Andover United Methodist Church. Lloyd fiercely battled the leukemia that eventually took his life.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 31, 2021 from 9:30 a.m to 11:00 a.m. with funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m., both at:

     Andover United Methodist Church
     1429 N. Andover Rd.
     Andover, KS 67002.

Interment will follow at Wichita Park Cemetery.
